Michael Buschmohle, President of Applause Associates, trains people
around the world to communicate persuasively. He’s an author, editor,
artist, speech writer, media coach (his clients have been on Oprah, Good
Morning America, and the Today Show) and college instructor. Besides
teaching at Bellevue Community College, he teaches an MBA managerial
communications course in China for City University. In 2006, he was
chosen by the organizers of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing to
teach them presentation skills. His clients include Boeing, Microsoft,
Starbucks, City of Seattle, Physio-Control, Virginia Mason Medical
Center, the FAA, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and Hainan
Airlines in China. He’s a past hospital training director and a former
Roman Catholic Priest and monk.
Program:
You know the old British proverb: You can
lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Don’t try to make
the horse drink. Try to make it thirsty. As professionals engaged daily
in purchasing and negotiating, how can you persuade the key stakeholders
in your company, negotiate with outside suppliers, and create thirst for
what you are recommending? Practical tips in this presentation include
1. The presentation model developed recently for Boeing supply managers
by the speaker called NORAD, which focuses on 5 questions involving
needs, objectives, resources, analysis, and decisions.
2. Three powerful e-mail techniques for writing messages that connect
with the reader immediately, create thirst, and invite positive
responses.
3. Speaking and voice techniques that let you sound as decisive,
confident, and persuasive as anyone you’ve ever heard on radio or
television.
An illustrated handout with practical tips included will be provided
for all who attend this event.
